Andrew the travel company ltd or better known in the trade as "Andrews Travels" is an independent tour operator commencing business in 1960 as a proprietary concern and subsequently due to the rapid growth was made into a private limited liability company in the earl y 70 's.

Andrews have been the pioneers in the tourism market of Belgium by participating at the Brussels travel fair almost from its inception introduced Sri Lanka as a tourist destination to the Belgian market. Today apart from being one of the leading tour operators in Sri Lanka Andrews has diversified into various other activities and is a group of companies comprising of Andrews pharmaceuticals, Andrew consultancy services and Andrews auto services . The company has all necessary infrastructure with its own full y equipped office premises located in one of the prime commercial locations in Colombo metropolises, a separate yard and a service and maintenance yard. The office is full y equipped with all modern technology including a computerized tours and accounts department, telephones and international direct dialing, e-mail, tele fax and telex.

The company has a highly dedicated staff well experienced in independently handling any type of tour it1nerary be it a standard classical tour or nature and bird watching, adventure , incentives , business travel or conference & conventions and amongst the staff is officers who are fluent in English, French, German, Japanese and Russian languages. Today Andrews has one of the largest fully owned fleet of vehicles amongst the industry , ranging from luxury coaches to mini & micro coaches, luxury cars , 4 wheel drive luxury jeeps etc . And it has updated its fleet with brand new coaches and cars. To sustain the large fleet the company has its own maintenance division and the best auto lubrication centre in the whole of Colombo.

The company also has its own tourist guide lecturers fluently conversant in English , French , German , Japanese , Italian , and Russian languages and all these guides are well experienced and trained and licensed by the Ceylon tourist board the only authority in Sri Lanka. The drivers of vehicles are all English speaking and the drivers of cars , station wagons and micro coaches are all well experienced tourist board licensed chauffeurs-guides .

The company is also the general sales agent in Sri Lanka for Yemen air. And member of PATA, ASTA, TAAI, TASSL, JATA , SLITO , with active participation in the various programmes of these association. The company’s main interest is handling individual clientele where the staff takes pleasure in providing a personalized service which varies from client to client according to his or her requirement.

The mission statement of the company is “contributing to the healthy development of international tourism by providing high quality tour packages at reasonable prices with a personalized service”. The founder chairman of the company Deshabandu Andrew Kariyawasan is an active participant in diversified community activities in Sri Lanka and is member o f numerous associations such as president of Sri Lanka Belgium friendship association, president of the Sri Lanka chapter of OISCA international Japan (organization for industrial spiritual & cultural advancement), Sri Lanka Japan friendship association, lions clubs international, senator JAYCEES, 51 international club, experiment in international living.
